A master cylinder for a brake system is provided to facilitate the manufacturing process of a piston and to reduce the manufacturing cost of the master cylinder. A master cylinder for a brake system comprises a cylinder body(20) having a bore(21) formed therein, first and second pistons(23,24) installed at the inside of the bore of the cylinder body, a plurality of sealing member, and oil inlet ports(53,54) formed at the cylinder body between the sealing members to supply a liquid chamber with oil. The piston includes a plurality of oil flow grooves(60) having a recessed shape and formed on an outer surface of the liquid chamber to communicate the oil inlet port with the liquid chamber. The oil flow groove is positioned to rest on the sealing member so as to allow oil to flow when the piston is retarded in a rear direction. |
