A cosmetic composition comprising an extract of Pinus strobus bark is provided to show excellent skin whitening effect by inhibiting melanogenesis and tyrosinase activity and exhibit excellent antioxidative effect. A cosmetic composition comprises 0.005-50.0 wt.% of an extract of Pinus strobus bark as an effective ingredient, wherein the extract is extracted by using at least one solvent selected from the group consisting of water, C1-4 alcohol, acetone, ethyl acetate, chloroform and 1,3-butylene glycol. The cosmetic composition is in the form of skin lotion, skin softener, skin toner, astringent, lotion, milk lotion, moisture lotion, nutritive lotion, massage cream, moisture cream, hand cream, essence, nutritive essence, pack, soap, shampoo, cleansing foam, cleansing lotion, cleansing cream, body lotion, body cleanser, emulsion, press powder, loose powder, eye shadow, patch and spray.
