An electric actuator is provided to prevent damage to a motor, a power transmitting unit, an output member, and a gate by immediately stopping operation of the motor and preventing the operation of the motor before turn-on of a reset switch in input of resistance torque from the gate. An electric actuator includes a motor, an output member(2), a power transmitting member(1), and a controller(50). The motor is a driving source. The output member is connected to a gate to open and close the gate. The power transmitting member transmits power of the motor to the output member. The controller controls the motor. The controller has an opening and closing command circuit unit(52) and a protection circuit unit(51). The opening and closing command circuit unit has an open switch(SW2) and a close switch(SW3) to output a forward or reverse rotation signal to the motor. The protection circuit unit cuts off power supply to the opening and closing command circuit unit to stop the motor when a resistance torque signal is inputted from the gate. |
