A slot machine and a control method of a game are provided to increase a player's interest by providing information that the player desires to the player in a step that payout is near. A slot machine includes: a symbol display device; a picture display device; and a controller. The controller performs game processes: (a) after betting of a credit, the credit for the number of plural symbols or their combination displayed by the symbol display device is paid out; (b) a rescue pay off mode is changed to a rescue pay on mode by input of the credit; (c) the number of game performed after the mode change is counted; (d) when the number of the counted game reaches a specific number, payout of the certain credit is performed; (e) the picture display device displays a general picture; (f) in case that the number of the counted game reaches a preliminary set value that is smaller than the specific number, a specific picture is displayed on the picture display device instead of the general picture(S405).
