<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information storage medium that has favorable recording and playback characteristics and that can perform recording and playback from one side. <P>SOLUTION: The information storage medium includes a substrate, a first optical reflective layer containing an organic dye material, a first recording layer, a first barrier layer, a space layer, a second optical reflective layer, a second recording layer, a second barrier layer and a protective layer formed on the second barrier layer. The first and second recording layers are capable of playback at a wavelength of 405 nm, the maximum absorption wavelength λmax being higher than 405 nm, and capable of recording. A groove has an inner zone and a data zone, and the inner zone has a BCA area, a prerecording area and a rewrite area, and is capable of playback by irradiating the first and second recording layers with a playback light through the protective layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
