PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester conjugate fiber capable of providing with good spinning operability while using polylactic acid, fusing only the sheath part in heat treatment to fuse the sheath part and giving products such as a woven or knitted fabric and a nonwoven fabric excellent in stretchable property and softness by PTT (polytrimethylene terephthalate) of the core part. SOLUTION: A sheath core conjugate fiber is composed of the sheath part of polylactic acid and core part of aromatic polyester including≥70% trimethylene terephthalate unit is provided, wherein the melting point of the aromatic polyester of the core component is higher than the melting point of the polylactic acid of the sheath component.
