<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent color slippage in a multiple colors image formation by effectively suppressing misalignment of scanning beams in a sub scanning direction, using a simpler correction control. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming method, information for tendency in variation in position (color smearing) due to the passage of time for each laser beam L is obtained, by previously measuring an amount of variation in the sub scanning direction which is varied, according to the rise in the temperature and the like due to passage of time in the laser beams L which are the scanning beams. When a correction control for variations in position is carried out in an automatic color matching mode by using this information for tendency in variation in the subscanning position due to the rising of temperature in the scanning beams, initial setting for calculation for a correction value is carried out so that the tendency for the variations in position are canceled. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
