<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a particulate material and a pellet of a polyarylene sulfide resin which is excellent in the yarn strength of the resultant fiber produced by the melt-spinning using a non-expensive flash method, and is reduced in the amount of oligomers and of volatile impurities both of which frequently cause the stain of a spinneret and the yarn breakage at the time of fiber forming, and also excellent in productivity at the time of melt-spinning. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the polyarylene sulfide resin particulate material characterized by the reduction of the amount of oligomers formed comprises supplying a gas stream for a flashing polymer product with steam on the occasion of recovering a solid material by a flashing method after performing reaction of a poly halogenated aromatic compound with an alkali metal sulfide in a polar solvent, and continuing steam supply and heating until a temperature of the solid exceeds 250°C even after evaporation of solvent and reaches at a temperature of not higher than 270°C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
