<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic oxidation catalyst which has an oxidation catalyst activity equivalent to an existing high-activity alcoholic oxidation catalyst of 1-methyl-AZADO, and is manufacturable by a method excellent in efficiency, workability, and economic efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention achieves development of the method enabling the supply of a large amount of ABNO having an N-oxyl group incorporated in a bicycle[3.3.1]nonane skeleton, by three steps from inexpensive raw materials of acetone dicarboxylic acid, glutaraldehyde, and aqueous ammonia, in a total yield of 42%, with only one purification operation. It is found that this compound can be an organic oxidation catalyst capable of oxidizing a secondary alcohol having a sterically complicated structure which is hardly oxidized by TEMPO, with high efficiency like 1-methyl-AZADO, and in addition, providing higher catalytic turnover to a primary alcohol than TEMPO, thus accomplishing the present invention. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
