<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compensate the deviation of an exposure time in an image pickup device. <P>SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus has: the image pickup device that has a plurality of pixels, converts a subject image photoelectrically to store an electric charge and outputs it as an image signal; a light-shielding means for allowing a light-shielding blade for shielding pixels from light to travel; and a control circuit. The control circuit resets pixels while the light-shielding means is retracted from the optical path of the image pickup device to start storing the charge in each pixel, and reads a first image signal from the pixel after an exposure time Tr. The control circuit resets the pixel to travel characteristics when the light-shielding blade is retracted to start storing the charge in each pixel, shields the pixels from light by allowing the light-shielding blade to travel after an exposure time td, and reads a second image signal from the pixel. The imaging apparatus also has a correction means for calculating the ratio of a pixel value for the first image signal to that for the second image signal to add up the result to the pixel value in the second image signal, thus correcting the gain of the second image signal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
