<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of improving the final efficiency of transfer of a toner image and, thereby, reducing the overall toner loss when toner images of a plurality of kinds of toners having different densities are superposed and transferred. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, Y-color toner image, M-color toner image, C-color toner image and K-color toner image are primarily transferred from photoreceptor drums 17Y, 17M, 17C and 17K by image formation parts 10Y, 10M, 10C and 10K which are arranged along an intermediate transfer belt 30. The maximum loading amount on the photoreceptor drum corresponding to density 1.60 of each color toner image is different from that of any other color toner image, and becomes smaller in the order of the Y-color toner image, M-color toner image, C-color toner image and K-color toner image. By performing primary transferring in such an order that the maximum loading amount on the photoreceptor drum becomes smaller, toner loading amount reversely transferred by a primary transfer nip on the downstream is reduced as compared to the case of performing primary transferring in such an order that the maximum loading amount on the photoreceptor drum becomes larger, the toner loss is reduced and image quality is improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
