PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus with a function for making it easy to recognize how printing is to be performed on a recording paper sheet when copying an original in the image forming apparatus with a both-side copying function. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus with the both-side copying function comprises: at least one of an original detection means for detecting the size of the original or an original size setting means for setting the size of the original according to a request; an original top position setting means for setting the top position of the original according to the request; a binding direction setting means for setting the binding direction of the original according to the request; an output size setting means for setting an output paper sheet size according to the request; and a printing magnification setting means for setting a printing magnification according to the request. A data box for preserving the data of the original is provided, and when printing the data of the original preserved in the data box, a printing area is set with the upper left corner of the original as a reference when defining that the top position of the original is up.
