<p>The present invention provides a means for monitoring the inhibition of ? secretase in an Alzheimer's disease (AD) patient or control subject in vivo using a ? secretase inhibitor biomarker. Statistically relevant biomarkers identified from a fluid sample of a patient treated with an AD therapeutic are identified and used to monitor ? secretase inhibition and the efficacy of a ?-secretase inhibitor.</p>
