FIELD: shipbuilding; watercraft propulsion and steering complexes. SUBSTANCE: all-turning hinged column is provided with longitudinal and transverse protection in form of changeable shear pins which are cut in case column is caught by foreign matter or strikes against foreign matter or ground if force of strike exceeds propeller thrust. Upper rod of suspension is provided with hydraulic shock absorbers which protect second pin against shearing when column returns to working position after shearing of first pin and swinging of column. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of complex especially when cruising in shallow waters and in polluted waters. 5 cl, 9 dwgd
