The system (1) has a pressure reduction device (2) with an expansion machine (6) e.g. turbine, for the reduction of the pressure of the gaseous fuel. A compressor (7) is provided for compressing the air driven by the expansion machine, and a mixer (9) is provided for mixing of the air compressed by the compressor to the gaseous fuel before supplying to a gas turbine (3). The air is continuously mixed to the gaseous fuel by continuously operating the expansion machine and the compressor. An independent claim is also included for a method for operation of a gas turbine.
