<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side air bag device for a vehicle capable of deploying an air bag at a more targeted position than conventional. <P>SOLUTION: This side air bag device has a posture restraining tool 30, and the posture restraining tool 30 is connected to a portion of a side air bag positioned in front of a vehicle than a seat frame 40b of at least a seat back 40 at the time of deployment, and a seat frame 40b of the seat back 40, so as to restrain the deploying posture of the side air bag 22. Therefore, compared to a case where the posture restraining tool 30 is not provided, the deploying posture of the side air bag 22 is stabilized, and the side air bag 22 can be deployed at a targeted position.
