PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device capable of obtaining an output light without changing a transition element-added optical waveguide, where the light source device uses the transition element added optical waveguide as a light emitter, and the coherence length of the output light is controlled. SOLUTION: In the light source device using a transition element-added optical waveguide 103 as a light emitter, a light output end 105 and an excitation light source 101 for exciting the transition element-added optical waveguide 103 are connected to one end of the transition element-added optical waveguide 103 through an optical coupler, and a reflector 201 is connected to the other end of the transition element added optical waveguide 103 through a variable attenuator 202.
