PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector capable of regulating excessive deflection of a tongue piece without causing deterioration of electrical performance. SOLUTION: If a terminal 10 is housed in the cavity 25 of a housing 20, receiving parts 32 formed on the peripheral wall of the cavity 25 is fitted in cutout parts 19 of the body part 11 of the terminal 10. If the tongue piece 18 is deflected by a releasing piece J intruding into the body 11 by mistake, before the tongue piece is excessively deflected, a deflection regulating piece 18C formed on its side fringe abuts on the receiving part 32s, and the tongue piece 18 is regulated not to further deflect. In addition, since excessive deflection is regulated by using the cutout parts 19 indispensable for folding back the tongue piece 18, it is not necessary to make a hole in the body part 11, and there is no possibility of lowering of the electrical performance.
