<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend the life of batteries in an uninterruptible power supply unit and prevent the batteries from being inactive. <P>SOLUTION: The lives of batteries 10, 20, and 30 are extended by cooling down the batteries 10, 20, and 30 when battery temperatures bt1, bt2, and bt3 are over the high-temperature reference value while heating up the batteries 10, 20, and 30 when the battery temperatures bt1, bt2, and bt3 are below the low-temperature reference value. Besides, if the supply of power to an input power supply is stopped after power supply to a load is stopped at the operation stop time based on the operation schedule information ds, the batteries 10, 20, and 30 are cooled down before power supply to the input power supply is stopped. In addition, if the battery temperatures bt1, bt2 and bt3 are below the low-temperature reference value at a predefined time before the start-up time based on the operation schedule ds, the batteries 10, 20, and 30 are heated up and become activated before the start-up time, ensuring that sufficient power is supplied to the load at the start-up time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
