PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hard disk device in which the remaining vacant amount of a hard disk is automatically and periodically increased. SOLUTION: When a title name of recording reservation disappears, whether or not there is the same title name as the title name of the recording reservation in a title list is judged and when it is judged that there is the same title name, the same title name in the title list is specified after elapse of setting period (for example, one month). Next, when the title is recorded again by lowering a recording rate by one step, the recording rate is set to the one lowered by one step than a recording rate when a title of the same title name is recorded, when it is judged that the remaining vacant amount is equal to or more than the desired remaining amount, the tile of the same title name specified by the recording rate lowered by one step is re-encoded and dubbing is executed.
