The device has a heating unit and a blower, where the blower supplies airflow over an air discharging opening (20) to a head area, a shoulder area and a neck area of a seat occupant. An adjusting body i.e. actuator (22), is formed as a hollow body and is attached to the air discharging opening. The adjusting body comprises an adjusting device for adjusting the air flow. The heating unit and/or the blower is arranged within the adjusting body. The adjusting body is integrated in a backrest (10) and/or a headrest (16) of a vehicle seat (12).
