PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine which enables even a beginner inexperienced in sewing to easily sew desired stitches without the need of changing or setting a sewing speed or a sewing method in the middle of sewing. SOLUTION: Every time a radio tag provided in a marking needle mounted on a working cloth successively enters the communication range of a tag reader provided in the sewing machine, the tag reader reads sewing information including the sewing speed, a needle swing amount and a cloth feed amount stored in the radio tag (S11), Then, when the sewing information does not exceed the operation specification of the sewing machine (S13: NO), according to the information appropriately read from the radio tag which is the sewing speed, the needle swing amount and the cloth feed amount, the rotation speed of a sewing machine motor and the drive amount of a motor for needle swing and a motor for feed amount adjustment are respectively set (S14-S16 and S31-S33) and then sewing processing is performed (S17).
