PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographic processing apparatus capable of preventing supply of a control strip from causing cumulative trouble and also preventing the expensive control strip from being wastefully disposed of. SOLUTION: The photographic processing apparatus is equipped with an exposure processing unit, a development processing unit, and a discharging unit which discharges a photosensitive material after development processing, and performs the development processing while carrying the control strip in the development processing unit before actual operation and then performs control strip processing for managing development processing liquid according to the coloring state of the control strip. The photographic processing apparatus has a judgment step of judging whether the control strip can be carried from the development processing unit to the discharging unit, and is operative to supply the control strip from a holder for control strip to the development processing unit when it is judged in the judgment step that the control strip can be carried.
