PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify mounting to a movable sash regarding a fall danger preventing device for the movable sash. SOLUTION: In the fall danger preventing device for the movable sash, a braking device X comprises a support member 11 fixed to the side end of the movable sash 3; a stopper member 21 rotatably journaled to the support member through a lateral shaft 16; and a spring member 17 wound on the lateral shaft to always energize the stopper member in a predetermined direction. A receiving member Y is fixedly provided at the internal wall surface of a guide part of a vertical frame. In a normal time when the tension of a suspended member acts, the lower end of the stopper member is held to a position separated from the internal wall surface of the guide part, whereas in an emergency when the suspended member is cut, the stopper member is rotated in an instant by the spring force of the spring member, and the lower end is frictionally engaged with the internal wall surface of the guide part.
