PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder capable of preventing double-feeding by reliably interrupting a second sheet almost double-fed, even if a sheet with high stiffness pushes down a separating pad 10. SOLUTION: The separating pad 10 is supported by a pad arm 9 energized by a compression spring 12 so as to move from a feeding roller. A carrying guide 30a guides a course of a sheet fed between the feeding roller 4 and the separating pad 10 while curving the course to the feeding roller 4 side. A pair of sub pads 13 is fixed to a feeding frame 30 on the outside of the carrying guide 30a. The sub pads 13 are guided by the carrying guide 30a so as to contact and interrupt a sheet fed by following a sheet pushing down the separating pad 10. The sub pads 13 are guided by the carrying guide 30a, and disposed at a height position which does not contact the sheet fed between the feeding roller 4 and the separating pad 10.
