A RPR bridge redundancy protection method and RPR bridge ring device that are used for RPR bridge redundancy protection process when at least two RPR rings respectively intersect with two nodes of one public RPR ring are provided. The method includes: one of two intersectant nodes of the RPR ring and the public RPR ring is configured to the main node, and another node is configured to the backup node; determining whether the backup node performs RPR bridge redundancy protection rearrange according to whether the backup node and the corresponding main node are connected on the public RPR ring. When one ring interests with two nodes of several rings, the invention may avoid the forming of ring loop.
