PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring method which responds to both the deformations of flexure and to the offset of the load force, and which will not be affected by errors relating to ABS friction. SOLUTION: In a system and a method for adjusting a static torque on a slider inside a head gimbal assembly, a substantially rigid mass is placed on an air bearing surface (ABS) of the slider. Static attitude of the slider is measured, and the adjustment location and the intensity for the realizing flexure to yield a zero slider static attitude are calculated.
