<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synchronous motor driving apparatus which has inexpensive configuration, has versatility independent from a motor parameter, causes less noise and can be operated highly efficiently, and to provide a control method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The synchronous motor driving apparatus is provided with position sensors disposed in the synchronous motor, a current polarity detecting circuit for detecting the polarity of a current flowing through a winding of the synchronous motor, and an inverter for driving the synchronous motor. The driving apparatus is provided with a speed control section 47 for computing a motor operation speed ωr on the basis of a signal from the position sensor 9 and calculating a first voltage adjustment quantity (q-axis current command Iq*) so that the motor operation speed may approximate to the speed command ω*; and a phase control section 45 for calculating a second voltage adjustment quantity (d-axis current command Id*) so that the phase difference between a signal from the current polarity detecting circuit 13 and the position sensor signal may be a predetermined voltage. The amplitude and phase of the voltage to be applied to the synchronous motor are each adjusted on the basis of both the voltage adjustment quantities. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
