PURPOSE: A lightning arrestor for a mobile communication base station is provided to remove a current component of high energy density when strong electromagnetic wave owing to lightning is transferred into a base station system through an antenna. CONSTITUTION: A lightning arrestor for a mobile communication base station comprises an external conductor(31), an internal conductor(32), insulators(30,33,37), an external square body(34), and a conductor pin(36). The internal conductor(32) and the conductor pin(36) are vertically connected in the external square body(34). A short stub of one-fourth wavelength has such a structure that the conductor pin(36) is surrounded by the external conductor(35), and consists of a cap(38) and an earth pin(39). The cap(38) forces the vertical conductor pin(36) and the external conductor(35) to be electrically shorted. The earth pin(39) induces lightning toward a ground cable of a mobile communication base station.
