The method involves clamping two cage rods (18, 19) between retainers (1, 2), which include contact surfaces (31) that are adapted to contour of the cage rods. Testing force acting at the cage rods is fed over the retainers, where the testing force is directed and measured in such a manner that a varying traction load e.g. pressure load, is exerted on the cage rods. The testing force is generated by a single axis hydropulser. An independent claim is also included for a testing device comprising two retainers.
