<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can easily and rapidly detect a defective bit line out of those for performing the parallel transmission of digital image signals. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with a switching means for switching a normal operation mode and a test mode. The image forming apparatus is also equipped with a setting means for setting a gain of an analog-digital conversion means such as an AFE to an upper limit value or a lower limit value at the test mode. Also provided in the image forming apparatus are a means for detecting any bit which does not changes a digital image signal when a gain of the conversion means is set to the upper limit value and when it is set to the lower limit value, and a display means for displaying that a bit line corresponding to the bit has a fault. That is, when there is any bit which does not changes the digital image signal even if the gain of the conversion means is changed from the upper limit value to the lower limit value, it is determined that a bit line corresponding to the bit has defects such as disconnection, a short circuit or the like. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
