PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shredding apparatus or the like enabling a prevention of a jam of shredded flakes. SOLUTION: A compression unit of a paper treatment apparatus is provided with a screw 33 which rotates in a predetermined direction to compress the shredded flakes, movable inside a housing. The screw 33 has a spiral feed blade 33B around a rotary shaft 33A, and a cutting blade portion 33C is constituted at a downstream end 33Bb of the feed blade 33B which turns a tip in case of rotating in the reverse direction, an angle:θ1 of an edge 33Bf formed by a moving operational surface 33Bc and an end face 33Be of the downstream end 33Bb being to be 90°or less, by which the cutting blade portion 33C scrapes away a block of the shredded flakes projecting on the upstream side by the inverse rotation of the screw 33 to eliminate the jam.
