PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system capable of reliably photographing an object by detecting a position of an object moving in a monitoring area with high accuracy. SOLUTION: The monitoring camera apparatus includes: a communication section 206 for inputting the indication of photographing the object to be photographed; an object position detecting section 204 for detecting the position of the object to which the photographing is indicated; an error detecting section 203 for detecting a positioning error at the position of the object; a control section 202 for setting a photographing range on the basis of the detected positioning error and the obtained object position; and a video photographing section 201 for photographing the set photographing range. The monitoring camera apparatuses for transmitting the photographed image via a network are connected via the network so as to construct the monitoring system. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
