PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent unexpected deterioration in image quality when a still image is photographed after performing zooming by using an electronic zoom during recording a moving picture. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus (100) having a still image mode for photographing the still image and a moving picture mode for photographing the moving picture includes: electronic zoom means (20, 22, 32, 50) for performing electronic zoom in response to designated magnification ratio; a setting means (70) for setting an electronic zoom performing condition in the still image mode; a judging means (50) for judging the performing condition set by the setting means when the electronic zoom is being performed in shifting from the moving picture mode to the still image mode; and a control means (50) for controlling the electronic zoom by the electronic zoom means in response to the performing condition judged by the judging means.
