PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an index constitution proposal system and a method for proposing an index constitution matched to the application use of a database, a data analyzer and a program. SOLUTION: A cache memory 102 holds query information to the database 103 inputted from an input device 101. A query information collecting means 105 collects and accumulates the query information stored in the cache memory 102 for a fixed period of time. A query information analytical means 106 draws out the index constitution suitable for each of retrieval processing and updating processing by analyzing information as to the presence of the use of an index or the like in the information collected by the query information collecting means 105, and displays a result thereof by an output device 111.
