PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for shot-blasting a workpiece, such as a cast product having grooves, which method can improve the quality of the product by efficiently removing foreign substances, such as burrs formed inside the grooves of the workpice, by the shot blasting. SOLUTION: The method for shot-blasting the workpiece having the grooves includes a step for turning the workpiece about a horizontal axis by arranging the workpiece in a rotary cage capable of turning about the horizontal axis, a first shot blasting step for carrying out the shot blasting at a required blasting distribution density, and a second shot blasting step for carrying out the shot blasting at a blasting distribution density of 30 to 60% of the blasting distribution density in the first shot blasting step.
