Provided is a print selecting device for a printer, in which an operation member (4) is equipped with both a constitution to improve the durability of the operation member (4) with a small number of parts thereby to acquire an indexing moderation for the selecting operation of a selection wheel and a constitution to acquire a rotation moderation, thereby to improve the feeling (or touch) of the hand at a print selecting time. The print selecting device notes that, at the rotating operation time of the selection wheel, a rotation regulating function is given to the portion of another selection wheel unselected. The print selecting device is characterized in that a selection wheel rotation regulating rod (12) of the operation member (4) includes a rotation allowing recess (12C) for making only the selected selection wheel rotatable, and a rotation regulating ridge (12D) for making the rotation of the unselected selection wheel regulatable, and in that a knob shaft (11) having drive projections (14) for engaging with the inner circumference engagement groove of the selection wheel includes an elastic engaging/disengaging portion (15) for suppressing the knob shaft (11) rotatably at an engaging/disengaging position located at a position different from that of the rotation allowing recess (12C).
