PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a man conveyor safety device capable of immediately detecting clamping regardless of a clamped position when a person or an article is clamped in a clearance between a footstep of the man conveyor and a skirt guard. SOLUTION: The man conveyor safety device is provided with the skirt guard 4 opposed to a side surface of a large number of footsteps 5 connected and circulated/moved along a main frame 1; a main frame angle 11 having one end fixed to the main frame 1 and the other end extending toward the skirt guard 4; a skirt guard mounting angle 12 fixed to a surface at the main frame side of the skirt guard 4, supported on the main frame angle 11 movably in a width direction and extending in parallel to a movement direction; a detector 13 operated when the skirt guard mounting angle is moved to a minus in a width direction by a predetermined distance; and an operation pressure adjustment spring 14 for pressing the skirt guard mounting angle 12 to a plus in the width direction.
