An intake and outtake system for vacuum packaging is provided to properly open and close an intake unit according to intake and outtake modes through a valve of an opening and closing unit communicated with the intake unit. A vacuum packaging machine(10) includes a vacuum chamber with an article receiving unit and an article bonding device(15). An intake passage unit is connected to pumps(P). An opening and closing unit(23) is connected to the intake passage unit. Nozzles(21A,25a,25b,25c,27a,27b) are included in the opening and closing unit and connected to the vacuum chamber. A valve opens and closes the opening and closing unit. A vacuum block(B) includes outtake passages connected to the opening and closing unit. The vacuum chamber is divided into an upper chamber(11A) and a lower chamber(11B) and an article(40) is positioned between the upper and lower chambers.
