<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp with a squeezed and sealed electrode, which can be easily manufactured and can prevent in an early stage the malfunction caused by abnormal discharge which occurs at the last stage of its lifetime. <P>SOLUTION: This fluorescent lamp 1 is equipped with a pair of lead-in wires 2, 2 supporting both end sides of a filament 8, a bulb 10 of glass which is crookedly bent so that end parts 10a, 10b are placed parallel with each other, and an arc tube 3 having a swelling part 13, which is formed so that it swells from the peripheral surface of the bulb, and its tip is positioned in the inside of a virtual tangent A touching the peripheral surfaces of the end parts 10a, 10b of an adjacent bulb 10, in the end part 10a of the bulb 10 where a pair of the lead-in wires 2, 2 are squeezed and sealed, and at least a part of the thickness D1 of which is thinner than the thickness of the bulb 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
