PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve system of an internal combustion engine improved in lubricating performance by forcibly supplying lubricant to each pivotal support portion of a rocker arm, a link rod or the like. SOLUTION: Rotating force of a driving cam 5 is transmitted to a swing cam 7 through a link arm 14, the rocker arm 13 and the link rod 15, and valve lift quantity of an intake valve is variably controlled by rotation of a control shaft 17 and a control cam 18. A cam nose part 7b is arranged on a control shaft 7 side of a straight line S connecting the shaft center Q of a pin 200 as a first pivotal support portion and the shaft center X of a driving shaft 3 so that the lubricant flowed out between a control cam and the rocker arm and dropped onto the top surface of the swing cam is sprung up in a direction of the pin 20 for forcible lubrication with a spring-up of the swing cam.
