The arrangement has a protection sensor (1) detecting a fixed reference e.g. roadway serve. A position of the protection sensor is changed, and the protection sensor is resides on a vehicle. A testing device (7) determines an actual position for the reference by considering the position change of the protection sensor. The testing device for examining the protection sensor compares the actual position data with the data determined by the protection sensor.
