PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansive composition as an expansive clinker in which inexpensive limestone is used as an unslaked lime producing source, and unslaked lime is produced as an expansion effective component, and exhibiting stable expansion development by single firing without requiring a special treatment apparatus such as a desulfurizing apparatus and without exerting trouble to the other properties such as strength development, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: Disclosed is an expansive composition as a granulated fired product of a limestone powder-containing raw material, which comprises alite involving free unslaked lime, and is obtained by granulating a mixture comprising cement of 5 to 25 mass%, limestone powder of 60 to 90 mass% and water of 5 to 25 pts.mass to 100 pts.mass of the cement and limestone powder, and firing the granulated material having compressive strength of≥10 N at 1,250°C.
