PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving apparatus and a receiving method which can improve reception quality by suppressing noise components even in an environment of a low signal-to-noise ratio having a large number of noise components. SOLUTION: Information is segmented from an information signal obtained by sampling a baseband signal obtained by a receiving RF unit 101 by an A-D converting unit 102 using a data window set by a data window segmenting unit 103 on the basis of a cyclic prefix. An odd function component is removed by an odd function component removing unit 104 and a discrete Fourier transforming unit 105 performs Fourier transform. Furthermore, an even function component removing unit 106 removes an even function component and a discrete Fourier transforming unit 107 performs Fourier transform. Results of the Fourier transforms are combined by an adder 108, detected by a detection unit 109 and channel-decoded by a channel decoding unit 110. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
