PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a wobble signal detector small in circuit scale and reduced in power consumption. SOLUTION: This detector is provided with a first signal amplitude adjusting circuit 81 and a second signal amplitude adjusting circuit 82 for adjusting signal amplitude of each of the frequency component of a data signal contained in a signal obtained from a reflected light from an area including one boundary of a track and the frequency component of a data signal contained in a signal obtained from a reflected light from an area including the other boundary of the track to be larger than that of a wobble signal. The detector is further provided with a first slew rate limit circuit 83 and a second slew rate limit circuit 84 for reducing the signal amplitude of the frequency components of the data signals from the output signal of the first signal amplitude adjusting circuits 81 and the output signal of the second signal amplitude adjusting circuits 82 by means of slew rate limitation.
