PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air rotary valve for allowing smooth sorting work without entangling sorted materials with a sliding surface. SOLUTION: The air rotary valve comprises an outside casing, an inside rotor arranged inside the outside casing rotatably coaxially with the outside casing, a liner provided on the sliding surface between the outside casing and the inside rotor, and a driving means for rotationally driving the inside rotor. The outside casing has first, second and third opening portions communicated with a blower, an exhaust means and an air chamber, respectively. The inside rotor has first and second opening portions to be communicated with the first and second opening portions of the outside casing during rotation, respectively. The inside of the inside rotor is communicated with the air chamber via the third opening portion of the outside casing. The liner is formed of a soft material whose linear expansion coefficient has a figure length the same as that of a forming material for each of the outside casing and the inside rotor.
