PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photographing apparatus capable of excellent image data for both an object and a background even on an illumination condition of backlighting or excessive frontlighting, etc. SOLUTION: An object is detected from a frame F(i) and a luminance histogram of an object region is created. If there is not 20% or more of luminance distribution in an intermediate luminance range, under exposure control for making proper the luminance distribution in the object region and a background region (S13, S15-S17), frames F(i+1) and F(i+2) are obtained, respectively (S14, S18). Spatial frequency analysis is performed on the object region and the background region (by luminance ranges) in the three frames (S12, S19, S20), results thereof are compared, image data of the frames F(i+1), F(i+2) are weighted more greatly as an exposure region becomes proper (S21-S23), and a frame Fcom combining the post-processing frames F(i+1), F(i+2) is then outputted.
