PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a friction plate to prevent biting in initial engagement while reducing dragging torque in idling in a wet type multiple disc clutch. SOLUTION: In the drawing, 40 shows a friction plate, 41 a core plate, 42 a segment piece of a friction material and 43 a spline tooth to be engaged with an objective hub respectively. A circular oil reservoir 71 is formed on an end part of a first oil groove 51 opened to the radially inner side of the friction plate. Further, a protruded part 81 is provided on one side 63 of an opening part of a second oil groove 61 opened to the radially outer side. Existence of oil in the oil reservoir 71 and fluid resistance by the protruded part 81 generate cushioning effect and prevent biting in initial engagement. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
