PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a large bundle binding machine capable of clearly identifying a small bundle group having any defective description thereon. SOLUTION: The large bundle binding machine comprises a binding tape winding mechanism for winding a binding tape T around a small bundle group R2 firstly in the longitudinal direction and secondly in the transverse direction, a binding tape feeding mechanism for feeding the binding tape T to the binding tape winding mechanism, a describing mechanism for performing the descriptions I, N before winding the binding tape T to be fed by the binding tape feeding mechanism around a winding corresponding part in the transverse direction, an error detection means for detecting occurrence of any error, and a delivery control means for winding the binding tape only in the longitudinal direction by the binding tape winding mechanism and delivering it for the small bundle group immediately after the error detection means detects any error after performing the description on the binding tape by the describing mechanism.
