PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem associated with the treatment of heavy metal using iron sulfide that the capability of treating heavy metal is insufficient for treating a phosphorous-containing material contaminated with heavy metal, which is complexly contaminated with harmful cation species and anion species. SOLUTION: The phosphorous-containing material contaminated with heavy metal, which is complexly contaminated with harmful heavy metal cation species and harmful heavy metal anion species, is treated using a heavy-metal treatment agent comprising iron sulfide and an alkaline earth metal salt. It is preferable that the heavy metal treatment agent further comprises a salt of an amine and a carbodithionic acid, or a piperazine-N,N'-bis(carbodithionic acid) salt in particular.
